The Intermediate Chorus (IC) offers a more advanced level of training, focusing on part-singing, mastery of musical fundamentals, and deeper dramatic character development. Choristers explore a diverse range of repertoire, including music in multiple languages and styles.
The Intermediate Chorus performs in our fall all-choir concert, takes the lead in the junior division opera each season, and also performs as the chorus in the mainstage opera.
Training provided in the Intermediate Chorus is fundamental to preparing young singers for the Principal Chorus, and as such, most singers will spend two to three years in the Intermediate Chorus. Special music and drama opportunities are offered to IC singers in their second and third years with the ensemble. the CCOC’s main performing chorus, which IC choristers will graduate into when ready.
