The Butterfly Chorus (BC) introduces Junior and Senior Kindergarteners to drama and singing in a nurturing setting. We help our youngest singers discover their singing voice; use playful exploration of facial expressions, familiar emotions, and lyrics using gesture, body movement, and voice, encouraging young singers to build connections between themselves, the music and the story; build their listening skills; and develop their confidence and social skills.
Weekly rehearsals have a balance of singing, movement, and listening activities.
The Butterfly Chorus participates each season in a fall all-choir concert, and they are also involved in the junior division staged opera experience. When choristers are ready, they move into the Ruby Chorus.
