Ruby Chorus (RC)
Approximate Grades 1 & 2
Instruction at the Ruby level includes:
- Discovery and development of the singing voice and finding the head voice
- Practice at repeating heard rhythms and melodies
- Using hand gestures and facial expressions to express text
- Teaching basic dramatic techniques, especially awareness and response
- Positive performance experiences both as an autonomous group and alongside older divisions of the CCOC
Every week, students receive 50 minutes of instruction, with a balance of musical and movement activities
Rehearsal time: 50 minutes weekly Grades 1-2 [approximate]
RC members will participate in a short half-day camp in the fall. The camp provides the choristers with a chance to make friends and get a head start on the concepts and repertoire to be learned throughout the year.
