Congratulations to our BC, RC, AC, and IC choristers for their amazing performance in this season’s Junior Division opera, An Opera Yarn!

Throughout the fall season, our Intermediate and Apprentice choristers worked with local composer, Chris Thornborrow, to write a libretto inspired by the story “Extra Yarn” by Mac Barnett. Chris took the text that our choristers had provided and assembled it into a working libretto as the choristers also provided their input into the music, how it should sound and the feelings the songs should evoke, which inspired Chris as he wrote the music.

On Saturday, April 1 our Junior Division choristers and artistic team put on a spectacular performance of An Opera Yarn at St. Clement’s Church, with a couple of pre-show performances by our youngest choristers from our Butterfly and Ruby choirs.

An Opera Yarn was a true success and our choristers did a wonderful job in this vibrant opera that shows the power of connection through a simple act of kindness and determination.
