Youth Chorus

The Youth Chorus is designed to provide graduates of the Principal Chorus further opportunities for training and experience, either as a bridge to university music programs or a deepening of one’s artistic ambitions and interests, regardless of post-secondary pursuits.

Singers continue to work on advanced vocal and dramatic works from a combination of choral, opera, and musical theatre repertoire, receive regular dramatic training, and have opportunities throughout the year to work with leading professional musicians, coaches, directors, and conductors.

The program culminates each year in a production performed by members of the Youth Chorus. Singers also participate in the fall all-choir concert and the CCOC’s mainstage opera through ensemble work and in selected auditioned solo roles.

YC choristers are typically ages 15 – 17.
