2021/22 Audition Dates:
Saturday May 15 and Saturday, June 12
As a world-class ensemble, we introduce the magic of opera to children and youth through professional musical and dramatic education, providing invaluable opportunities to perform in established and newly commissioned operatic and choral repertoire.
The CCOC is committed to providing an enjoyable experience for each chorister while building a solid foundation of vocal and dramatic technique. We provide instruction on healthy habits of practice and performance. The program emphasizes understanding of basic theoretical underpinnings of Western musical traditions and an appreciation of music of other traditions. Graduates are expected to be literate and intelligent musicians as well as fundamentally sound singers.
We are committed to changing the lives of children and youth through the power of music and performance. Whether singing and acting on stage, in rehearsal, or at our music and drama summer camps, our choristers learn self-esteem, self-confidence and the joy of working as a team with seasoned professionals.
