“It’s about one moment. It’s about hitting the wall and having to make a choice, or take a stand, or turn around and go back.”
– Jason Robert Brown
Songs for a New World weaves characters and history together, illuminating the timelessness of self-discovery. The first musical from Tony Award winner, Jason Robert Brown (Parade, Bridges of Madison County), this moving collection of powerful songs examines life, love and the choices that we make.
Under the direction of Autumn Smith and musical direction by Teri Dunn, the Canadian Children’s Opera Company’s talented Youth Chorus face these profound moments of decision in Brown’s compelling score.
Contains some mature content and coarse language. Suitable for ages 12 and up. The piece runs for approximately 90 minutes with no intermission.
