Reverend David A. Julien
October 8, 1950 - January 3, 2020
An extraordinary and wonderful man.
The Board of Directors, staff and volunteers of the Canadian Children’s Opera Company were sad to hear of the passing of Reverend David A. Julien. Rev. Julien was a former director at the CCOC and Chairman of the Board from 1984 – 1988. For decades, he was an active parent and volunteer. We are grateful for his many years of dedication to the organization.
We were honoured and touched by the family’s decision to request the establishment of a fund in his name at the CCOC. The Rev. David A. Julien Bursary Fund will help us to financially support new choristers with the passion and talent to pursue a career in singing at the CCOC. Mrs. Lynnell Julien and her children, Hanna and James, Gwendolyn and Joe, and Brianna and Matt wanted to extend his legacy into the future by helping others.
Through his life, it is clear that Rev. Julien was a man of faith, passion and compassion. He left of legacy of music and love beyond the boundaries of his family, whom he cherished. Music was his lifelong joy; he loved technology, loved to create, build, fix and record; he also loved the outdoors and spending time with his grandchildren. One of his greatest gifts was answering the call to ministry in 2002. He became the unstoppable Father David who passionately loved and cared for all those in his care and beyond. He will be profoundly and deeply missed.
In memory and celebration of Rev. David A. Julien, we invite family, friends, colleagues and acquaintances to consider making a gift to The Reverend David A. Julien Bursary Fund and help us to share the gift of music with new generations.
